The final batch of July’s Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) checks is scheduled for distribution this week. Thus far, the Social Security Administration has issued three rounds of these payments. Your payment may already be on its way, depending on when your birthday falls and the commencement date of your SSDI benefits. If not, expect to receive your check sometime this week.
The delivery timeline for your SSDI payment is primarily dictated by two factors: your date of birth and the year you initially began receiving SSDI funds. It’s important to note that the SSDI payment schedule typically aligns with the standard Social Security payment schedule unless you’ve been an SSDI recipient for multiple decades. This will be further elucidated below.
Social Security Payment Schedule for Long-Term Recipients
However, exceptions can occur. If the third day of any given month happens to fall on a weekend or a public holiday, your payment will be issued on the closest business day instead. For instance, if the third day of June falls on a Saturday, SSDI beneficiaries would receive their payments on the preceding business day, which is Friday, June 2.

For those who have been receiving SSDI benefits since May 1997 or earlier, your payment is usually dispatched on the third day of every month.
This has been the Social Security payment schedule for the most recent recipients
For those who started receiving SSDI benefits after 1997, their payment schedule aligns with the standard Social Security payment calendar. Here are the payment dates in July for SSDI recipients, categorized according to their date of birth:
- July 3: Payment for those who have been receiving SSDI benefits since before May 1997.
- July 12: Payment for those with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of any month.
- July 19: Payment for those with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of any month.
- July 26: Payment for those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month.
If you are entitled to the social security payment according to these criteria but have not received it, it is important that you contact the corresponding administrative authorities to find the error and correct it if necessary.
