Pay your utility bills on time: Applying for the REAP program in San Antonio, Texas
If you or someone you know requires assistance with energy bills, REAP is here to lend a helping hand. Applying for aid is an easy-going process. The City of San Antonio and Bexar County manage the application procedure, ensuring it is efficient and accessible for those in need. By streamlining the process, San Antonio aims to help as many individuals and families as possible to overcome their financial burdens and lead a more comfortable life.

You may qualify for REAP assistance if you:
- Have income at or below 125% of the 2023 Federal Poverty Guidelines
- permanently reside in San Antonio or Bexar County
- Meet at least ONE of the following criteria: are aged 60 or older, disabled, have children; under age 16 living in your home, or require critical-care equipment.
You may apply twice a year, for a total of $400 REAP utility bill assistance for the year. You will receive credit on your CPS Energy utility bills as well as information about CPS Energy programs on weatherization, low-cost/no-cost energy efficiency, senior-citizen aid, and critical care assistance. You will be asked to present proof of income, hardship, and number of family members.
