We all want to do our part for the planet, from what we do at home to big companies like Costco, which has been gradually changing to a more sustainable model for years, and that includes the products of its house brand, Kirkland Signature. Among the most outstanding products of the brand, customers fell in love with one in particular: The Kirkland Signature dishwasher pacs.
You might have noticed that Kirkland Signature products use the claim “not tested on animals” on their personal care products: Well, that’s part of the company’s commitment to sustainability. The company also made the following statement: “None of our suppliers test any of the ingredients for any Kirkland Signature products on animals.” And there’s more: we’ve checked the Environmental Working Group (EWG) review on this product, and it’s, actually, pretty good.

The lemon citrus scent adds a refreshing touch to your cleaning routine, leaving your kitchen smelling fresh and inviting. Also, no more plastic: this pacs are easy to use since you just gotta pop’em into the machine, and let it work its magic.
Friendly with the environment and affordable – The Kirkland Signature pacs will change your dishwashing routine
Kirkland Signature has taken care of the environmental discussion, not leaving this to the chance. These dishwasher pacs are phosphate-free, chlorine-free, salt-free, and safe for septic systems. You can have peace of mind knowing that you’re using a product that is both effective and environmentally friendly.
We have taken it upon ourselves to investigate to determine if these dishwasher pacs are, in fact, eco-friendly. We went to the website of the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a nonprofit organization that rates all the products sold in the United States, and they qualified the pacs (lemon scent) as a “Low Concern” product: that means that the potential for it to be hazardous to the environment is limited, and the product offer a good ingredients’ disclosure. The active ingredients like sodium carbonate peroxide, and sodium carbonate, are labeled as “lowest concern”, while the enzymes, and the sodium silicate are “moderate concern”.
If you wanna have another opinions, let’s take a look at what other shoppers have to say: 75% of the over a thousand reviews on Amazon’s website gave it a 5-star rating, out of 5. “ If you use any other detergent, they don’t seem to dissolve in the hard water, even with the fabric softener, and leave residue all over the dishes in the dishwasher, and you have to rewash them by hand. The Kirkland brand dish tabs, dissolve, and leave everything very clean. Very impressed,” says the review by a person self identified as Grams.
“Great value for your money. Great dishwasher pods. Cleans well. Not any different from brand name dishwashing pods,” Missy, another satisfied customer, stated. “I purchased this brand as it does a much better job cleaning my dishes than other well known brands. It rinses clean off the dishes and utensils. It is easy to use, and the results are wonderful. Highly recommend this product over others that leave residue and soap or part of the casing. This does not,” was the review by a woman called “Social Mom” (yeah, that her username).
