The bathroom is one of the places where it accumulates more humidity and, therefore, also one of the areas where we can notice lower temperatures during the winter. That is why we often need a heater or other type of device that allows us to create a pleasant climate.
Today we bring you a very useful alternative to avoid this kind of situation and also to keep your towels warm. If you want to discover it, read on.
What is a towel rail radiator, and how does it work?
The bathroom is one of the rooms in our house where we spend more cold in winter, especially when we shower or bathe. Fortunately, however, for some time now, there has been a device that helps us improve this situation: the towel radiator.
As the name suggests, this system works like a radiator and is usually anchored to one of the bathroom walls. They have many advantages, although the main one is that we can place the towels on top so they can dry, and then we find them warm when we get out of the shower.
But they also take up very little space in our service and usually keep a very attractive aesthetic, so they combine perfectly with any home’s decor.
How to choose the power of the electric towel rail radiator?
One of the key factors to consider when choosing a system of this type, in the case of those that run on electricity, is the operating power. Ideally, it is estimated to be about 80 W per square meter, although 30% is always added to compensate for the heat usually absorbed by the towels we hang.
Thus, if we have a bathroom of about five m² and make the calculation, we would be talking about power of around 520 W.
Other things to keep in mind
The installation of these devices is usually simple. Still, we advise you to leave it in the hands of a professional because it is often necessary to locate them in a specific space to comply with safety standards (under windows, in well-ventilated places, etc.).
On the other hand, their maintenance and cleaning are very simple; you only have to wipe them with a cloth to remove accumulated dust and, in the case of those that work with water, purge them. As you can see, radiator heaters are a very interesting alternative for our home. Do not hesitate and get yours now.
Types of towel rails radiators
Regarding the types of towel radiators we can find in the market, we will see two categories based on their operation: electric or hot water.
In this way, we can distinguish between
- Water towel radiators. Its operation is the same as that of radiators that operate with a boiler system since what it does is receive hot water from the boiler to start emitting heat.
- Electric towel radiators. In this case, they are independent systems from the house heating, so we can use them without turning on the whole system. They usually have a plug directly connected to the electric current and are very easy to use.
Choosing one type or another will depend on the kind of system that we have installed in our house since if we have heating, the most normal is to opt for the hot water towel radiator. The electric alternative will be more useful if we are in a second home with no boiler-operated system.
